The Introduction to SAMCODES workshop, at GeoCongress 2025, will introduce participants to the reason behind international mineral reporting codes and their application within the South African context. The session (08:00-13:00 on 24 June 2025) will cover the history and importance of the Codes and will provide an introduction to the public reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves. It will also introduce participants to the reporting of mineral asset valuations. It will discuss the role of the Competent Person (CP) and the role of the GSSA as a recognised professional organisation (RPO).
